It is one of the leading manufacturers of integrated circuits and semiconductor parts that are used for electronics in various fields (industry, automobile, computers, medicine, aerospace, and military). Czech companies as part of ON Semiconductor group continue in 60-years long tradition in the electronics field from their historic predecessor Tesla Roznov (1949-1991), Tesla Sezam, and Terosil (1992-2002).

The lecture of dr. Jan Chochol will include a presentation of ON Semiconductor company. The lecture will also focus on physics applications and physical processes influencing manufacturing. Dr. Chochol will describe dopant distribution in crystals and simulation of semiconductor parts in TCAD. The issues of practical experiences in the academic field and industrial company and employment of physicists will also be addressed.
The Heart of Europe workshop is a traditional gathering of scientists dealing with thin films. The center of Europe is presented by the Technical University of Vienna, Masaryk University in Brno, and Comenius University in Bratislava.
