CEPLANT center traditionally joined the whole Department of Physical Electronics at the Researchers’ Night event. This year's topic was "Time". Laboratories were open to public, however the whole event held was online due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Our workplace has traditionally joined the Researchers’ Night. CEPLANT and the Department of Physical Electronics prepared thematic popular scientific videos for the attendees. Research group Deposition of Thin Films and Nanostructures prepared a video about PVD deposition of thin films. Dr. Martina Mrkvičková and her colleagues from the research group Didactics of Physics prepared a video of the Magnus effect.
Dr. Thanka Rajan, an accomplished material scientist from India, has joined Masaryk University’s PVDLab as a Postdoctoral Researcher under the COLOSSE project. With over a decade of expertise in thin film technologies for biomedical, catalytic, and sustainable energy applications, he now focuses on pioneering high-entropy coatings to advance next-generation energy solutions.
From October 13–17, 2025, the prestigious 78th Gaseous Electronics Conference (GEC) in Seoul brought together global experts in low-temperature plasma science. Dr. Martina Mrkvičková from CEPLANT and Masaryk University presented her research on enhancing laser-induced fluorescence diagnostics for atomizers used in trace element analysis, offering solutions to challenges like signal saturation and beam attenuation.
