Dr. Vjačeslav Sochora will speak about SHM company in Šumperk, the only Czech company with research and development in PVD technologies. The SHM company owns its patents, international publications, and presentations. In the Czech Republic, it holds and operates the largest coating center.
Dr. Vjačeslav Sochora will introduce new research trends and projects. With Masaryk University and Palacký University in Olomouc, the SHM company works on the task of manufacturing so-called metallic glass in the form of thin films and coatings. With Masaryk University, they also collaborate in the research of determinating of ionization degree of sputter particles during magnetron sputtering deposition.
The Heart of Europe workshop is a traditional gathering of scientists dealing with thin films. The center of Europe is presented by the Technical University of Vienna, Masaryk University in Brno, and Comenius University in Bratislava.
Prof. Christoph Gerhard and his colleagues visited their project partners at the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology and the CEPLANT Centre in the second week of April 2024. Together, they are working on the functionalization of fibers.
