Canadian scientist Dr. Jacopo Profili visited the DPPT and CEPLANT Centre

In the last week of January, Canadian scientist Dr. Jacopo Profili visited the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology and CEPLANT Centre. Initially a chemistry graduate, Profili is now working in Canada on preparing and modifying materials using gas discharges. As part of the INNOLEC project, he lectured on barrier dielectric discharge and its use in producing organosilicon layers.

Project on functionalized fiber spectroscopy with HAWK Göttingen is halfway through

Scientists from the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications research group at the DPPT and CEPLANT center investigate new possibilities for sample analysis using LIBS (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy). They traveled again to Göttingen, Germany, to further measure LIBS and to discuss plans for future work. The MOBILITY projects rely on reciprocal visits between international partners and their research centers.

At the end of 2023, a new project was approved for CEPLANT scientists. It is a project of Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Homola on preparing perovskite solar cells with high efficiency and stability.

" Adhesion problems?! - Not with us!" is the name of the workshop organized by ak-adp (user group atmospheric pressure plasma) that was held in Bamberg, Germany on 15 and 16 November 2023. CEPLANT researchers participated in this event.

ESCAMPIG 2024 1st Announcement

ESCAMPIG 1^st Announcement is here! The ESCAMPIG (Europhysics Conference on Atomic and Molecular Physics and Ionized Gases) is a biennial conference of EPS (European Physical Society). Conference topics are basic and applied plasma research. It will be held in Brno for the first time in Czechia on 9-13 July 2024.

ESCAMPIG 2024 in Brno

CEPLANT is an active co-organizer preparing the ESCAMPIG 2024 (Europhysics Conference on Atomic and Molecular Physics and Ionized Gases). The ESCAMPIG 2024 is a biennial conference of EPS (European Physical Society). Conference topics comprise both basic and applied plasma research. For the first time, it will be held in Brno, 9-13 July 2024. The event is coorganized by the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology of Masaryk University, the CEPLANT, and the Union of Czech Mathematicians and Physicists.

New decontamination chamber

Scientists from CEPLANT and the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications research group of the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology have developed a new prototype of a decontamination chamber. Dr. Zlata Kelar Tučeková and her team worked on this technology for two years.

New project: Advanced optics for the application of ultrashort laser pulses in DUV, VIS and NIR

The Research Group Optics of Thin Films and Solid Surfaces is now working on the project Advanced Optics for Applications of Ultrashort Laser Pulses in the DUV, VIS and NIR Wave Region (reg. no. CZ.01.01.01/01/22_002/0000677) funded by the Operational Programme Technology and Applications for Competitiveness.

Mateusz Wnukowski studies plasma gas conversion using laser diagnostics

Plasma diagnostics using TALIF can lead to a better understating of plasma conversion of fuel gases. Dr. Mateusz Wnukowski from Wroclaw came to CEPLANT and the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology to learn about laser diagnostics in more detail. His research aims to make more effective and environmentally friendly alternatives to the presently used technologies for fuel conversion.
